there are moments where watching tv is the worst possible thing ever.
Dont get me wrong, I watch a lot of tv to begin with. some is good/entertaining/educational....
but other times its just drama...
I like watching Law and Order because when something bad happens, usually the bad people get whats coming to em.
Law n Order SVU can be awesome to watch, trying to figure IT out.
but all these episodes of child abuse makes me so furious
Its times like this that I want to join the police and get on a SVU squad myself just to help put away more of these bastards. L&O often takes stories from the news, so some of the things that happen in the show are real. How is it that our society has forgotten so much of what is Right and WRONG!
I think that some damn good homegrown american vigilantism is about to happen if more of these things keep happening.
I don't know how anyone can think that making a child live in a 4'square cage with a waterbottle and chemtoilet is ok.

I think I have now met the most efficient team of 35-55yr old workers on the face of the earth. My landlord died in a plane crash a few weeks ago.. his property was transfered to new ownership. So the new owner and appraisers came today.
The showed up at 9:01 and were done by 9:15.
Each person had an assigned task and did exactly what was necessary. The measured the overall room sizes, outside dimensions, drew a basic groundplan layout, listed appliances, major issues, type of ac/coolr/heater, measured the yard checked elec inside and out, water, gas pressure etc, and they took at least four directional digital photo shots for each part of the house inside and out, checked for termites, roof integrity, open and closed every window, flushed the toilet and turned on the shower.
To measure the outside they used tapereels and had four people run tapes to the corners to get the overall meausrements.

I feel sorry for the one solitary geek they had with him. His job was to compile each mass of data and make it into drafting/drawings/spreadsheets for the rental agency. They did 12+ apartments/houses in exactly an hour

Do not go gentle into that good night,
Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Though wise men at their end know dark is right,
Because their words had forked no lightning they
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright
Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,
And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,
Do not go gentle into that good night.

Grave men, near death, who see with blinding sight
Blind eyes could blaze like meteors and be gay,
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

And you, my father, there on that sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Dylan Thomas

mmmm jobs. yup jobs. its on my mind. constantly. sure its easy to get a job, but one you want? one you can do for 40-50hrs a week? one that pays a decent salary? hell one in a part of town where your not afraid for your life. stupid rant i know but f'n'A I have a masters degree. its degrading to have someone offer you 26grand to work your ass off. I got paid that fresh out of undergrad. why is it that everybody seems to want to offer advice on jobs? I'm fine at first, but it gets worse every day. My parents are by far the furthest in denial. My mom is a physical therapist, well i guess hand therapist, but she can get a job anywhere that there is hand surgery going on or anywhere there are injuries to the hand...and it friggin took her like 5 months to find a job. my dad. he's a trip. He's worked a grand total of i think 4 jobs in his entire life. the one he has now....been doing it for 25 years. yup. i appreciate the gesture of offering advice. but better yet how about offering me a job or point one out to me that might actually be decent to work at. as my second cousin puts it I just got out of the 20th grade. yeah 20 years of school right i know guess what I'm trained i've got skills but pay me people. I'm not going to fucking put soda on the shelf at walgreens for $7/hr. let the fucker who dropped out of school do that shit
I think i'm too tense because i got an offer but its bare minimum. and non of the other places are even ready to start considering me.

so i think that at least one of my headache/migraine types is based off of my sinuses. today, while i was asleep a big stormfront rolled in supposedly to bring some rain.... it wasnt the thunder or the wind that woke me up.
nope, rather, it was the pressure at the base of my skull and a point right on the bridge of my nose between my eyese linked to it.
I totally rolled over today and my first words, other than maraaghaghg aaaaar uuuuuh, which arent words in english, were its going to rain.

and now all of my lovely sport and theatre injuries are screaming tooo

sometimes i wish the boom on that 30' sailboat had nocked my head off instead of dilocating my shoulder and concussing my head
then again if everytime a boom hit someones head, they died, well lets just say thats a lot of bodies that are gonna end up bobbing in the water

found out today there are over 5 types of miso soup
i'm sad to think that I've only had 1 type up until today, now I've had two
Shirumiso(white), Akamiso(Red), Kuromiso(black), Genmaimiso(brown), Hatchomiso(smokedfish), Tofu Miso, Spinach Miso, mmmmmm miso
as i'm typing this guess what comes on tv....miso making on the show How its made
so apparently miso started as a grain thats boiled fermented then mashed into a paste and used as a base for soup stock....so its got as many types as people can mash together. then there are region specific type bases....soybean, rice, barley and combinations of the three, so um yeah anyone want to go to Japan and then Korea(also has types of miso) on a Miso taste testing mission.

see I think that miso is inherintly evil due to its associations to sushi
yup slippery slimey sushi in its oh so goodness
always served with sushi

Anyone know of a way to help fall asleep when your girlfriend is out of town?
After living with someone for two months after having lived alone for 5 years....well lets say it goes way beyond simply nice.

yeah its fun being sappy at night, but then again its the first full day we've been apart in a long time.

I'm doubly freaked about my place here cause i found out my landlord and his wife died in a plane crash on sunday. wtf am i supposed to do now, cause i had a verbal agreement with him, so I guess I've got to deal with higher rent and all those bs things that go with a new rental agency

at times in my life...i've simply wished to have a major moment of time that was a breeze. The idea of things going smoothly, easy decisions, quality options presenting themselves.

Finding a quality real world job is way beyond hard. let me see if i can express the issue with our industry.

50 new graduating td's
20 disgruntled atd's looking for td jobs
15 mastercarps looking for atd/td jobs

available jobs: 15 education, 10 lort, 5 corporate/events, 4 entertainment/amusement, 4 vegas...lets say give or take a few more...

so thats 85 job seekers for 40 jobs...so that means 45 of us poor suckers go without jobs.
Let me just say that working the last few temp jobs bites royally. hmmm let me get a graduate degree, yeah the highest degree in my industry, yup....gonna go to work....lets see there was medical filing, printshop proofing/editing, kalil merchandise handling, landscaping, trcuk unloading/loading.

So i've been turned down to 3 jobs so far....I've got two good prospects left...and then a few loose ends. When i graduated from undergrad something similar happened and i only ended up getting one job offer, so when i got it, somehow i saw it as this wonderful semiperfect job. within two months i was totally screwed. I'll be damned if i'm going to deal with that kind of bs again.
